We
dropped into our Nation's Capital, Canberra, and visited Old Parliament House
and the
current Parliament House.
Mr P was
keen for his GTS to be photographed in front of all the important buildings.
We
visited Cowra - my father-in-law was interned here during the 2nd World War.
Italians were considered enemies thanks to Mussolini.
His
memories of his internment were positive - he made lots of friends, played
soccer and card games and didn't have to work hard on the family farm.
Not much
is left of the camp, just a few concrete slabs is all that remains.
Signs
warning of snakes were a bit daunting.
The town
of Cowra has some lovely old buildings.
Next on
to Bathurst, home to the internationally known motor racing track Mount
Panorama and the annual Bathurst 1000 motor race.
Mr P had
a fantastic time but was mindful of the 60 km speed limit imposed and heavy
police presence.
We also
checked out the National Motor Racing Museum located adjacent to the track.
Until
next time xx
